OpenSCENARIO 2.0 is about to be released with innovative expressiveness and abstraction to fuel revolutionary automation in AV development and V&V processes. We wanted to see if we could use this automation today, to efficiently validate products’ adherence to the recent UNECE level-3 ALKS regulation.

Foretellix announced today its ALKS regulatory solution, and jointly with Mobileye – demonstrated the use of this solution, combined with an RSS controller to verify full system regulation compliance.

What should you expect from the Foretellix ALKS flow?

  • Efficient scenario creation producing a massive number of tests to accurately capture the ODD’s regulation needs. The scenarios auto-adjust to any desired location or maps, explore the unexpected and unknowns with random intelligent value selections, and are easy to steer to meet user needs using simple spreadsheets.
  • Foretify scenario runtime adjustments monitor the unpredictable autonomous vehicle responses and adjust the other actors’ behavior to meet the user intent. This maximizes the value of each simulation, saves compute and human resources, and shortens the overall verification cycle.
  • Coverage is part of the reporting and a dashboard is presenting what regulation scenarios were actually executed and observed, as opposed to what the test requested. This is especially needed for automation functions like level-3 ALKS where the unpredicted Ego responses may invalidate the test goals.
  • Self-checking scenarios for both the regulatory and RSS rules. The pre-provided checks can be easily refined to meet user needs

It is important to note that in addition to the ALKS regulation package, Foretellix also provides a more extensive ALKS Verification & Validation package that goes beyond the regulatory needs and validates ALKS devices in multiple prone to error edge cases and unknown conditions such as other maneuvers, various road circumstances, stationary objects (like parked vehicles) and more. Mobileye und Foretellix demonstrieren ein mit Sicherheitsbestimmungen konformes Prozedere für automatisierte Fahrsysteme, mithilfe des neuen Spurhalteassistenen-Pakets mit RSS

Tel Aviv, Israel – 19. Oktober, 2020 – Foretellix kündigt heute sein neues ALKS-Überprüfungspaket an. Es handelt sich dabei um die weltweit erste kommerzielle Lösung für die neu angekündigte ALKS-Verordnung (Automatic Lane-Keeping System) der Vereinten Nationen (UN). Das neue Paket beinhaltet die Unterstützung von Mobileye Responsibility-Sensitive Safety (RSS). Zuvor wurde gemeinsam erfolgreich demonstriert, dass der Prüfablauf konform mit ALKS-Sicherheitsvorschriften und Regularien ist. Das neue Überprüfungspaket wird den Autoherstellern helfen, die gesetzlichen Anforderungen und Zertifizierungsvorgaben der automatisierten ALKS-Fahrsysteme zu erfüllen.

Foretellix hat kürzlich seine neuartige ADAS & Highway-Lösung veröffentlicht, die ein sofort einsatzbereites und umfassendes Verifizierungspaket von Fahrerassistenztechnologien bietet: von Stufe 2 bis zu auf die Autobahn ausgerichteten, vollständig autonomen Lösungen der Stufe 4. Mit der Einführung des neuen Pakets umfasst die Lösung nun auch die erste kommerzielle Umsetzung der neuen ALKS-Verordnung durch die UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe), der weltweit ersten Level 3-Verordnung.

In einer gemeinsamen Demonstration mit Mobileye generierte das ALKS-Verifizierungspaket die erforderlichen Regelungsszenarien und -parameter und lieferte messbare Metriken für das RSS-gesteuerte Fahrzeugverhalten. Das Paket griff auf das RSS-Modell von Mobileye zurück, um sicherzustellen, dass das getestete Fahrzeug keine gefährlichen Situationen auslöst und ordnungsgemäß auf gefährliche Situationen reagiert, die von anderen Fahrzeugen ausgelöst wurden. Diese Szenarien wurden über einen weiten Bereich von Parametern variiert, um zu zeigen, dass sowohl die Sicherheit als auch die gesetzlichen Anforderungen erfüllt sind.

Mobileye and Foretellix demonstrate safety regulation compliance flow for Automated Driving Systems using new ALKS package with RSS

Tel Aviv, Israel – October 19th, 2020 – Foretellix today announced its new ALKS verification package, the world’s first commercial solution for the newly announced Automatic Lane-Keeping System (ALKS) regulation. The new package includes support of Mobileye Responsibility-Sensitive Safety (RSS) following a successful joint demonstration of ALKS safety regulation and compliance flow. The new verification package will help automakers address the regulatory and certification requirements of ALKS automated driving systems.

Foretellix has recently released its novel ADAS & Highway solution that provides an out-of-the-box, comprehensive verification package from Level 2 driver-assist technologies to Level 4 highway-focused, fully autonomous solutions. With the introduction of the new package, the solution now includes the first-ever commercial implementation of new ALKS regulation by the UNECE, the world’s first Level 3 regulation.

In a joint demonstration with Mobileye, the ALKS verification package generated the required regulation scenarios and parameters and provided measurable metrics on the RSS controlled vehicle behavior. The package used Mobileye’s RSS model to ensure that the tested vehicle does not initiate dangerous situations and properly responds to dangerous situations initiated by other vehicles. These scenarios were varied over a wide range of parameter values, demonstrating that safety, as well as regulatory requirements, are met.

Metamoto technology to be incorporated into the Foretellix platform to meet growing demand from OEMs and Tier1s and ease integration with simulator partners

The Foretellix solution helps to expose bugs and edge cases early in the development cycle; reduce the cost of testing using intelligent automation and reduce time to deployment.
